Yarra Glen Early Learning Centre - KIN OSH Program

Yarra Glen Early Learning Centre is located in the heart of Yarra Glen. Our Centre is well suited to families living in Yarra Glen or living in surrounding suburbs. Our easily accessible location is convenient for those having to commute for work. Our homely, purpose built facility caters for 60 children from 6 weeks to school age. Yarra Glen Early Learning Centre has serviced both Early Learning and Out of School Hours Care in Yarra Glen for 30 years.

We place a strong emphasis on creating a warm, home like environment for our families and children with a commitment to quality early childhood education. After a long day at school our environment provides comfort and the opportunity to wind down and relax with friends and siblings. We pride ourselves on the continuity of educators and staff in our service, which have developed relationships with children and partnerships with families over many years, some since infancy. We believe that a rich learning environment can only be achieved through links with both families and the wider community and encourage families to get involved in our program wherever possible.

Our KIN OSH space is located in our Kinder room. The room has been especially equipped to transform into an appropriate environment for school aged children including adjustable furniture, soft comfortable furnishings and also the latest technology to support an engaging and fun program. Each KIN OSH session has a daily routine which has been developed within the children’s ages and developmental stages in mind. These routines incorporate daily events such as meal times and activities. While a routine in place there is space for spontaneous experiences and flexibility as part of educating children.

Our program has a natural rhythm, a relaxed pace where one part of the session flows happily to the next. The children have the opportunity to periods of uninterrupted time which allows and encourages them to get involved in what interests them without being hurried on or having their efforts packed up before they are finished. We aim for all the children to have choice and balance throughout the sessions.
